River Monster

I was actually inspired by Jeremy Wade on this posting. I do like watching anything on discovery channel as it is educational for me. One of my brother's past time activities is going to the river to fish by using a traditional fishing gun. I 'm not so sure about the law part of this gadget but as far as I know,it is still used by villagers here today. Some where in February this year, he actually caught a gigantic river eel! We call it Sinsilog. 

 It was late at night, probably around half passed ten and I could hear dogs barking from far untill at certain time it was our dog's turn to barked at something right infront of our door step. I was curious, of course I heard my brother and his friends talking to each other  and when I open the door, there was that eel which I've never seen as big as this in my whole life.

After admiring the eel for a while, they started cutting it and dividing it to three portions as three of them actually when for this fishing adventure earlier on. I am amazed at their skills of catching this monster as I heard them talking about how they struggled not to let this monster go. It was not an easy fight for them as they are only using the traditional fish gun and their bare hands to tackled this monster at that moment. Not to forget that it was actually caught at night!

I was excited and still in shocked with the size of this river monster and the first thing came up in to my mind is "where is my camera?". I rushed to my room to get it and wallah! here are some pictures to share with all of you. What happened to this eel, hmm, I can assure you that it end up in a good course. Aramaitii! :)
